Coverlee helps you understand coverage. It does not replace a licensed professional, your policy documents or your state insurance department.
Everything on Coverlee, including guides, calculators, examples and answers to questions, is general educational information. It is not insurance, legal, tax, financial or medical advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, change or cancel any policy.
Coverlee does not sell insurance, is not licensed to sell or advise on insurance, does not collect quotes and does not pass your details to agents or companies.
Our calculators use published formulas, official figures and stated assumptions. Real premiums, coverage and claim payments depend on policy wording, underwriting, your health, your state’s rules, your insurer and many other factors. An estimate from Coverlee may be higher or lower than what you actually need or what an insurer would pay.
Insurance rules, state minimum limits, tax tables and program details change. Each guide and tool shows when it was last updated and the date we checked its sources. Always confirm current rules with the official source or your state insurance department, which you can find through the NAIC’s directory of state insurance departments.
Plan and eligibility information in our health plan checker comes from the CMS Marketplace API (public HealthCare.gov data). It may change and is shown as an estimate. Coverlee is not affiliated with the government or HealthCare.gov and is not an enrollment site. To enroll, use HealthCare.gov or your state’s official marketplace.
Unless a figure is cited to a source, names and numbers in examples are invented to show how a calculation works.
For decisions about your own coverage, talk to a licensed insurance agent or broker, a fee-only financial planner, a tax professional or an attorney as appropriate. If you have a complaint about an insurer, your state insurance department can help.
